Family Involvement

At Borrego Pass Community School, we recognize that parents and guardians play a crucial role in student success. Strong family involvement enhances student achievement and fosters a supportive learning environment. We are committed to building partnerships with families and the community through open communication, collaboration, and meaningful engagement opportunities.
Parent/Guardian Involvement Policy
Borrego Pass Community School is dedicated to educating Navajo District students with the active support of parents and guardians. Research shows that family involvement is one of the most significant factors in student achievement. We believe all parents and guardians want the best for their children, and we strive to maintain strong communication and collaboration to enhance learning and ensure success.
How Families Can Contribute
When families actively engage in their child’s education, students perform better. Here’s how you can support learning at home and school:
- Be a Teacher at Home: Encourage learning by assisting with homework, promoting reading, and discussing school topics.
- Volunteer: Share your skills by helping in classrooms, organizing events, or providing mentorship.
- Advocate: Ensure your child’s needs are met and they receive fair treatment at school.
How We Communicate with Families
We believe in open, two-way communication between the school and families. Here’s how we keep you informed:
- Monthly PAC Meetings: Parents/guardians are invited to participate in discussions about school plans and initiatives.
- Regular Updates: Newsletters and progress reports keep families informed about student progress and school events.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences: Scheduled meetings provide opportunities to discuss student progress and explore ways to support learning.
Parent Advisory Committee
The Parent Advisory Committee is essential to our efforts to strengthen family-school partnerships. PAC members analyze school communication strategies, identify opportunities for student success, and provide recommendations to support positive change within the school community. These discussions help shape the implementation of our school’s strategic plan.
Meeting Details:
- Location: School Cafeteria
- Frequency: Every second Wednesday of the month

We encourage all parents and guardians to attend these meetings, share their perspectives, and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
